Deacon Derrick Elder
Chair of our Deacon Board
Deacon Derrick Elder has more than 34 years of experience in the medical laboratory and biotechnology sales management area. Mr. Elder is a board certified Clinical Laboratory Specialist in Cytogenetics. He has participated in several genetic research projects at Baylor College of Medicine and is a published author.
Deacon Elder is a Texas A&M University alumni. He is active in the Houston community and serves on several boards.
Mr. Elder enjoys spending time with his family and is active with several automobile enthusiast clubs in the Houston area. He has been an integral part of church move to Canino Road and we thank God for him and his family.
Bro. Henry Carradine
Church Treasurer
Brother Carradine is an Accountant with over 33 years’ experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical industry before venturing out and now has his own tax consultant business. He is an alumni of Grambling State University and a proud Louisianan with a penchant for cooking gumbo and raising fruit trees which he shares with our members.
We are blessed to have someone to keep us on budget and help perform various functions of leadership within our church body.

Reverend Cynthia Carradine
Associate Minister
Rev. Cynthia Carradine serves as Associate Minister at CBMBC. She was licensed in the Gospel Ministry at CGMBC in 2012. She was Ordained in the Gospel Ministry in 2013. She works with the Youth Dept. and the Women’s Ministry.
She completed the College of Biblical Studies in Leadership and attended The University of Houston & West Virginia State University.
Previous Experience: Retired from AT&T Engineering Dept after 18+ years of service, currently working for Professional Healthcare Education Service – 12+ years, as a Office Manager. She has also worked in the West Virginia Legislature, Dept of Veterans Affairs and The Charleston Gazette in West Virginia. Served as a CASA volunteer (West Virginia), Soccer Coach and Boy Scout leader assistant.
A prayer warrior, immersed in the Word of God. She is also an avid reader, host of family gatherings and proud grandmother of 4; Married for 29 years.
Reverend George Webb Jr.
Associate Minister
Reverend George Webb Jr. serves as Associate Minister at CGMBC. He was licensed in the Gospel Ministry in 2012 and was ordained in the Gospel Ministry in 2013. He is a gifted percussionist and bassist at CGMBC.
He attended Texas Southern University and studied Music Education. He works with the Men’s Dept. at CGMBC and the Music Ministry.
He is currently employed at Coca-Cola Bottling Co. and has been employed there for over 30 years.
He has been married for 20 years and is a dedicated father of 4 children and grandfather of 6. He enjoys fishing and cooking in his leisure time and is a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan.
Pastor Gregory & First Lady V. Yvette Cheeks
Pastors
The pastor and his wife are successful business owners and professionals. The pastor is a Radiographer by trade. He and his wife a RN by trade together own and run 2 businesses in Stafford, TX. One is Professional Healthcare Education Service Inc.(PHES), a Texas Board of Nursing approved Nurse Remediation and Nurse Refresher Course provider as well as a continuing education provider since 2001. The second is The Immunization Clinic, a private immunization clinic that specializes in adult and adolescent vaccines, drug testing for domestic needs and travel vaccinations that has been open since 2006.
They have lived in First Colony, Sugar Land for 23 years and are both native Texans and have 2 sons and 4 grandchildren.
The pastor studied Biology (Pre-Med) at The University of Houston. He holds an Associate Degree in Radiological Science from Houston Community College. He graduated Summa Cum Laude and was Class President. He was also a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. He won several awards in the Houston Area Radiological Technology Society and Texas Society of Radiological Technology. He has practiced at Texas Childrens Hospital, St. Luke’s Hospital, Ben Taub Trauma Center, The Methodist Hospital and, Southwest Memorial Physicians Associates.
The pastor answered the call to the gospel ministry in 1975. He was licensed and ordained in the gospel ministry at The Central Garden Missionary Baptist Church. He also studied Christianity at Houston Baptist University. He also was a member of the pastoral staff at Mount Hebron Missionary Baptist Church and Lily Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He served as Assistant Pastor of Central Garden Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Ernest Brooks, Jr. and currently serves as Senior Pastor of Central Garden Missionary Baptist Church which he has served for 21 years.
Mrs. Cheeks received her Associate Degree in Nursing and went on the obtain her Baccalaureate in Nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing Education. She worked at several hospitals and other areas of practice before opening PHES. She serves as a tireless advocate of healthcare education in many venues. She is a Texas Nurses Association Certified Nurse Advocate, and has served on the Advisory Board of Houston Community College Associate Degree Nursing Program. Clinically she has worked in areas from Emergency Medicine, Medical Surgical and Telemetry, Pre and Post Heart Transplant, Home Health and Hospice Care, Infusion Care and Nursing Management.
They both participate in the honor societies for their profession as well as volunteer with multiple organizations like the Fort Bend Medical Corps, Sigma Theta Tau and serve on advisory boards.
Pastor Gregory and his wife bring their love of God, family and community into our church and their businesses to help others and use their smiles and good humor as they live “true life” examples of God’s love for man.
